Statuesque

From Lasell University Runway 2024, my conceptual couture garment is inspired by the draping process of design, where you often only drape with muslin on half of the dress form to create your patterns. I wanted to push myself by creating an asymmetric gown that flows together as the fabric flows between the two sides of the design, that plays with volume, shape, and balance. I also found inspiration from the beautiful sculptures of women I have seen throughout my life and the beauty that can be captured through this type of art.
